Dancing Histor(y)ies workshop in Viminacium
Last month, ilDance travelled to Serbia for activities of the Creative Europe project Dancing Histor(y)ies. Israel Aloni, Hanna Magdalena Gödl and Victor Persson participated in workshops at Viminacium Archeological Park together with various local organizations and stakeholders, hosted by our local partners, the Institute of Archaeology in Belgrade. We delved into community narratives and the theme of movement across BORDERS, including social, cultural and psychological boundaries. During the meetings with the local community we learned about the rich history and culture of the Roma people, and the Serbian traditions.
The trip also included a visit to the towns of Kostolac, Požarevac and the city of Belgrade. We experienced meetings, conversations and workshops around music, textile and dance bridging the ancient with the contemporary.
During this journey, we discovered the richness of Viminacium's cultural landscape and its potential for artistic expression and community connection.
Stay tuned to learn more about our creative work in Dancing Histor(y)ies!
