Dancing Histor(y)ies Upcoming Residencies and Workshops
In April, Dancing Histor(y)ies artists are diving into the creation process of their pieces for the 2025 Dancing Histor(y)ies tour. Israel Aloni will be working with Elias Khanamidi, Victor Person and Jennifer Wallen on a new series of pieces which are addressing the concept of time and how it has been interpreted differently in different eras in the geographic and cultural contexts in which they are working this year: Sweden, Sardinia, Italy, Spain and Serbia. The creation process is hosted in a residency at our long standing collaborator Regionteater Väst in Uddevalla.
During the residency they will meet Uddevalla Folkdansgille (Local Folk Dance group) for two movement workshops and a discussion about the history of folk dance in Sweden. The group will also have a chance to watch a work-in-progress sharing at Regionteater Väst and will share their own practice and ways of working with the ilDance team.
Workshops in Sweden:
23 April 2025 - Mölndal Museum
24 and 25 April 2025 - Vitlycke Center of Performing Arts
In these workshops ilDance artists Victor Persson and Jennifer Wallen will work with youth and elderly groups. They will work with the groups on the relationship between poetry and movement, in a particular way which we develop for our performances at the Dancing Histor(y)ies festivals this year, as well as share anecdotes and stories about the project as a whole and our adventures in the archeological sites.
International Workshops:
28 April - 04 May - Nora, Sardinia (Italy)
ilDance artists Victor Persson and Tomer Giat will return to Sardinia to continue their workshops and interaction with local communities and stakeholders.
