ilDance is hiring - Communication manager
ilDance is seeking a communication manager to join our team in the coming months.
This is a part time position in which one can work remotely and the specific employment terms will be discussed with suitable candidates. We are looking for the right person to join our team and understand the importance of structuring this position in dialogue with the suitable individual.

The new position will commence in February/March 2025 with the exact starting date open to negotiation.

// ABOUT ilDance //
ilDance is an independent production body which is dedicated to contemporary dance and working from Gothenburg, Sweden. It was founded in 2012 by its directors, Israel Aloni and Lee Brummer, and since then has become one of Sweden's most dynamic and prolific independent dance organisations.
ilDance activities include:
• Creation and touring of original, rigorous contemporary dance works.
• Initiating, leading and partnering in numerous international cooperation projects which are supported by the Creative Europe program of the European Union.
• Initiating and facilitating contexts for research and experimentation within and through contemporary dance.
• Supporting contemporary dance with and by young and emerging artists both across Sweden and internationally.
• Coordinating and managing activities of Gaga Movement Language across Sweden as Gaga Sweden.
ilDance is a body with many organs which are all connected by our devotion to creating and sharing multidisciplinary contemporary art, always with a strong dance dimension, to actively partake in society and the communities with whom we interact.
We operate as a hybrid model which has been uniquely developed by its directors to ensure our organisation’s contemporaneity and resilience. The creativity, bravery and agility that are evident in ilDance’s choreographic practices, also guide the company’s operative and production methodologies. We, at ilDance, believe that the innovation and flexibility of artists should not be confined within the realm of artistic creation process but can and should also inform the practices of production and management.
Currently there are 7 people employed by ilDance as the core team. Additionally, every year we contract tens of artists and other professionals for projects across Sweden and internationally.
All applicants must hold an EU citizenship or a relevant European work permit.
Working languages: English and Swedish. High proficiency in Swedish is required.

// ROLE DESCRIPTION //
Communication manager
Develop and implement communication strategies to promote ilDance and its projects.
Manage and update the organisation’s websites (Squarespace), including content creation, ongoing maintenance, basic design task and ongoing posting.
Create and distribute newsletters via Mailchimp, managing content, layout, and audience lists.
Develop and manage social media content across Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, including posts, stories, video editing, and graphic design.
Oversee the design and production of print materials and ensure brand consistency across all platforms.
Coordinate with external partners, collaborators, and media for communication-related tasks.
Draft and distribute press releases as well as coordinate all media relations for the organisation.
Manage tasks and updates in project management tools (ClickUp, google drive, Dropbox, Zoom, Vimeo)
Maintain communication logs and contribute to content development for new platforms, such as Wikipedia.
// APPLICANTS SHOULD POSSES THE FOLLOWING MERITS AND EXPERIENCE:
Proven experience in communications, marketing, or related fields.
Proficiency in website management (Squarespace) , social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn), and email marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp).
Good writing, editing, and graphic design skills.
Experience with video editing and familiarity with design tools like Adobe Express and/or Canva.
Good organisational and project management skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate effectively with internal and external teams.
Fluent in English and advance Swedish skills.
Experience in arts, culture, or nonprofit sectors.
Knowledge of contemporary dance in Sweden and internationally would be an advantageous for applicants in this role.
Experience in working with large scale international projects. Previous experience with project co-funded by Creative Europe would be advantageous this role.
