ilYoung 2023 cast announced

The ilYoung 2023 journey has begun. On Sunday 26 February, this year’s cast had their first meeting as a group with ilDance directors Israel Aloni and Lee Brummer to learn more about the summer’s project.

This year, we welcome back Wilma Eriksson and Bella Khanamidi from the 2022 cast, joined by Atte Rimpelä, Zofia Krzyszycha, Jazzy Williamson-Gray, Paco Ladrón de Guevara, Elias Khanamidi and Olatz Egia Cantón.

For the first time since 2019, ilYoung welcomes an Australia-based cast member Jazzy Williamson-Gray. Jazzy was chosen as part of a collaboration between ilDance and The Mill in Adelaide.

The cast will be joined by an intern for the duration of the creation process, Sofiia Butiaga, who began studying at the Royal Swedish Ballet School last year, having moved from Ukraine to Stockholm.

ilYoung is ilDance’s project-based junior dance company for artists between the ages of 18-27, aimed to support excellent young and emerging artists who are in the early stages of their professional careers. The project offers professional experience, mentorship and a nationwide touring opportunity.

In ilYoung 2023, residencies in Härnösand and Linköping are confirmed, thanks to support from Härnösands folkhögskola, Dans i Öst/Region Östergötland, Linköping kommun and Kulturhuset Agora.
